Just for that moment, my eyes follow you as you walk across the room, your eyes searching for a familiar face. A goofy, boyish smile spreads across your lips as your eyes match with mine. I hold my breath as you step closer, my heart thundering within my chest. I wonder if you can tell. "Cass," is all you say before you swallow me into your arms. The world around me disappears and suddenly it's just you: your shirt, your heartbeat, your skin. You're warm, like always; almost like I'm bathing under the sun.
