Entry from: Couiza, France Entry Title: "Cascades" Entry: "Today we went to investigate the natural "hot springs" on the advice of the guy we rented the villa from. Apparently he hasn't seen a lot of Canadian hot springs! We followed his instructions on where to go, and found the area quite easily. It is in a town called Rennes-les-Bains, which is famous for its springs. There is a huge spa in the town, which is a big tourist attraction, but unfortunately is closed in the winter. So, we walk down the river to where there the cascades of warm water are...Dave and I are envisioning a quaint little pool by the river filled with warm water pouring from a little waterfall. Far from it! It was basically a pipe coming out of a wall pouring directly in to the river! No place to sit and relax at all, and hardly high enough out of the river that you could even get under it. Plus, you had to wade through the freezing cold river to get there. Needless to say, we didn't bother. It was still very lovely, as the area is really pretty, and just a short walk up the river there was a very pretty waterfall. We had our picnic lunch by the side of the river, and Olivia and I had foot races and chased butterflies trying to snap a pic of one. The weather was gorgeous, not a cloud in the sky and nice and warm. Actual t-shirt ...
