"I'm so sorry I just ran away like that this morning." I say immediately when the front door of Nick's apartment open up. "That was out of line. I should've explained and I just....You're the only good thing going on in my life right now so can you please not be mad?" I've been looking down the whole time and when I look up not only do I scream and cover my mouth with my hand but I quickly look on the wall by the door to see if I came to the right apartment because when I look up it's not Nick's gorgeous face I see it's some woman in her forties and she's holding the door open, leaning with one arm on them for support. She looks at me with a smug smile on her face and I can't help but to turn pale because I didn't mistake the number of the apartment which only means one thing. Nick's mother. Oh for the love of dogs. And she heard me blab about this morning. This is not happening. I sigh and look away from her face. "I suppose you're here for Nick?" She asks, her smile widening.
